Read about Grind Types

We have recently adjusted our grind options. With that in mind, we wanted to offer this primer so that you can choose the best grind-style for your preferred brewing method.

Whole Bean-- While we are happy to grind your beans, your coffee will stay fresher longer if you grind it as you go. There are many great home grinder options out there and many are surprisingly inexpensive.

Drip-- This is a medium grind that is the most versatile. Brewing methods using drip include home coffee drip machines, pour-overs (like Hario), Chemex, and AeroPress.

Espresso-- This grind is generally used for espresso makers. This includes home machines and stove-tip espresso pots. The grind is the most fine and is optimized to work with a high pressure extraction system.

Coarse-- Coarse is for percolators, french press, cold brewing, and sometimes AeroPress. Coarse is the biggest/loosest grind and enables water to move more freely steeping coffee for extraction.

All of the above, while generally true in the industry, also should be adjusted for preference. Feel free to experiment and please contact us if you have questions and we will be happy to work with you.

Product Overview

Good Morning Plains is a companion blend to "Good Morning Americus," a lighter roast coffee that is a local favorite and a nod to our neighboring town of Plains, Ga., home of former president Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn. In addition to being Jimmy Carter's home and presidential campaign headquarters, Plains is also the site of the not-to-be-missed annual Peanut Festival where Mr. Peanut himself makes an appearance every September.

A blend of Honduras Full City, Sumatra Viennese, and Nicaragua French roast. This is a fair trade, organic, medium-bodied coffee with a sweet fragrance, mellow flavor, and soft acidity. This is a great first cup of the day- offering both an interesting flavor and a roast profile that holds up well to cold mornings and a dash of cream.

The label for Good Morning Plains was designed by Americus artist Jeff Williams, whose art-deco style paintings have been featured in the Louvre and earned him the spot as the "Official Artist" of the 2009 Kentucky Derby.

Available in a variety of grind options.

I love everything about this blend of coffee. The packaging is great, the name is great, the aroma is wonderful and it is delicious. It’s not jarringly strong, it’s mellow. Make a pot, you will want more
